Conservative MP Chris Philip has been mocked for his slightly bizarre approach to BBC Question Time.
Appearing on the programme yesterday evening, Philip largely spoke directly to the camera, in a tactic reminiscent of George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984.
Other guests, less intent on hypnotising viewers, spoke to each other.

And people have been speculating whether this was a clever distraction technique from Philip, to divert viewers from what he was saying.
Indeed, the Tory MP claimed we should be “proud” of our response to coronavirus – particularly how we’ve “pulled together” as a nation.
He also said that “it’s difficult to make comparisons between countries.”
Over 36,000 people have died from coronavirus in the UK – the second highest death toll in the world.
