Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen has pitched a deal to Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage: join the Tories and get a spot in the House of Lords.
Speaking on talkRADIO yesterday evening, the Brexiteer MP said:
“If Nigel would join the Conservatives and support the government, we’d deliver Brexit, and once Brexit is delivered, given his contribution to politics over the past 20 years I think there’d be a place in the House of Lords for Lord Farage.”
Bridgen, who comes narrowly behind Mark Francois as the most self-impressed Brexiteer in Parliament, also said that he would probably leave the House of Commons if Brexit isn’t delivered.
Asked what he would do instead, Bridgen said: “I’d go back into business and make lots of money.”
To be honest, I’m sure we could find enough people to pay Bridgen “lots of money” to leave now.
