A comfortable majority of Brits support flying limits to tackle the issue of climate chance, according to a new poll by YouGov.
The polling company surveyed 2,000 people and found that 67% think air travel should be restricted to prevent environmental damage. 28.2% of people said air travel should definitely be limited, with 38.7% saying it should probably be restricted.
Just 22.2% of people said they firmly believe there shouldn’t be any restrictions, while 10% said they didn’t know.
This poll seems to explode the idea, proposed right-wingers, that ordinary people don’t really care about climate change. For example, Brendan O’Neill claimed that Greta Thunberg has been spreading a “politics of fear” by highlighting the environmental impact of air travel.
Others, like Darren Grimes, also suggested that the working classes would feel betrayed if a politician tried to limit air travel.
Unsurprisingly, these people are totally and utterly wrong.
