Katie Hopkins doesn’t deny that Trump’s team has been in contact with her

Can you spot a Tory election lie?

Take the Lie Detector

Katie Hopkins has not denied that Donald Trump’s team has been in contact with her, after the President again shared the far-right commentator’s tweets.

In an interview with the New York Times, Katie Hopkins said she has never spoken with Trump himself, but declined to answer whether his advisers had ever been in touch.

Trump has shared two of Hopkins’ tweets in recent days, retweeting a post blaming Angela Merkel for crimes committed by immigrants, and another criticising London Mayor Sadiq Khan – not for the first time nicknaming the capital “Londonistan”.

In 2015, the President called Hopkins a “respected columnist” and praised her “powerful writing”, despite the fact she’s compared migrants to cockroaches and has called for “a final solution” to solve Islamic terrorism.

Speaking to the New York Times, Hopkins said: “President Trump and I have ended up with a similar message”.

If this special relationship doesn’t scare you, we don’t know what will.
