EU leader: Nigel Farage is still a threat to EU

European Union Vice President Mairead McGuinness has taken on Nigel Farage for trying to “kill Europe”.

Speaking to Irish radio, McGuinness said that European Parliament has given Farage too much attention – allowing him to launch a campaign to destroy the EU from the inside.

“I suppose we have allowed him become the focus of all of this,” she said.

“Maybe we should have played this better – insofar as not allowing him to use the European Parliament as a platform to kill Europe.”

McGuinness also expressed concern that Farage won’t give up his fight against the EU, even though Brexit is being delivered.

“He’s not just happy that the UK is leaving, but he hates Europe and he’s an outright opponent of the whole European Union,” she said – adding that Farage’s anti-EU campaigning will continue to be effective because he knows how to control the media circus.

“The sad reality of politics today is sometimes the facts are irrelevant – it’s the emotion that sways.”

Farage might be leaving European Parliament, but he’s still a danger to the European project.
