When Boris Johnson became Prime Minister this summer, he said that Britain would leave the EU on 31st October “do or die”. He also said he would rather be “dead in a ditch” than ask the EU for an extension, while one of his MPs, Mark Francois, claimed Britain would “explode” if Brexit was further delayed.
Today is 31st October and by all accounts, Britain is still in the EU – with European leaders granting us an extension to remain in the union until 31st January.
